Making MECC Work Policy Brief

We are delighted to share our research findings in the Making MECC Work policy brief below. This summarises our survey and interview research findings. It also presents the recommendations we developed with our stakeholders as part of a consensus process to improve MECC implementation in Ireland.

Consensus Workshop – 28th and 29th of June 2022

We look forward to welcoming our key stakeholders to NUI Galway on the 28th and 29th of June 2022 to share our research findings and achieve consensus on strategy options to enhance the implementation of the Making Every Contact Count programme.

Survey Launch – 12th of April 2021

The Making MECC Work Team are now seeking feedback from healthcare professionals who have completed the MECC eLearning training programme through a national survey. The purpose of the survey is to document what makes it easy or difficult for healthcare professionals to deliver MECC brief interventions in practice. All healthcare professionals who have undertaken the training will receive their survey invitation by e-mail. The results of the survey will be used to improve the implementation of the MECC programme and enhance patient outcomes. The survey will remain open until the 28th May 2021 and should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. If you would like to know more about the survey, you can watch a brief video by Professor Molly Byrne here. You can also contact the team for more information at info@makingmeccwork.com

Over 4000 HSE health professionals have completed the MECC eLearning training to date. If you haven’t completed the MECC eLearning yet and would like to, you can access it here
